A small dog was seated in a corner howling at his home, wondering why the door wouldn’t open for him. What he didn’t know was that the door would never be opened again. His owners had moved, and he had been abandoned.
However, a neighbor spotted the dog and explained, “My neighbor moved out this morning and left this poor dog behind its been crying and scratching the door, I cannot afford to keep it anybody willing to rehome.”
The post quickly went viral and got the interest of numerous Facebook users.
The woman who noticed the poor dog was Shirley Martindale-Horner. She picked the dog up and took him to the groomer.
The dog-without-a-name received his first human contact after he was left behind at the only home he ever knew.
Soon after the grooming session, Shirley shared this picture. How lovely!
Because of the power of social media, the dog (now named Aubrey), experienced love, found new buddies, and also found a new home – a forever home.
Shirley mentioned that following Aubrey’s visit to the groomer, he didn’t have to be worried about facing a closed door again. Shirley was determined to take him home with her, where the door would remain open for him.
What a lovely conclusion to a very tragic story. It’s wonderful to see Aubrey in great hands.
